Jazz & Blues Festival Back!

Last night at the Herbie Hancock show at the Gem Theatre, the American Jazz Museum announced there would once again be a jazz and blues festival in Kansas City. The name of the festival is Rhythm & Ribs. The date announced was Father's Day weekend, which in 2005 is June 17 th -19 th . There were no acts disclosed, but they did say that Harry Connick Jr. wanted $400,000, so he was too expensive, and B.B. King would be in Europe. They made no mention of where the festival will be held, but my guess would be Penn Valley Park, or the park behind the American Jazz Museum.

If you are interested in a Jazz Festival, and want to voice you opinion as to who should be there, just get in touch with the American Jazz Museum. If you want my opinion, bring in Medeski, Martin & Wood. Keep visiting our site for the most information on the upcoming Rhythm & Ribs Festival.
